Product Range:
There are three series of End Fittings:
1. Standard
2. Interlock
3. Reusable
Standard Series:
Standard inserts are common with all braided hose, 4SP multi-spiral hose, thermoplastic hose & PTFE hose.
Interlock Series:
Interlock inserts are recommended for multi spiral hoses like SAE 100R13, SAE 100R15 & 4SH. The hose is internally and externally skived while using interlock fittings. Sometimes Interlock fittings are also referred as the wire trap fittings.
Reusable Series:
Ferrule and Insert are screwed together to provide termination between hose and the insert. As the term implies, this fitting can be reused. When the hose fails, the fitting can be assembled on to a new hose. The fitting is secured to the hose by screwing a ferrule onto the hose. The insert, which is tapered, is screwed into the ferrule, which in effect clamps the hose between the ferrule and the insert. Reusable ferrules are suitable for 1&2 wire braided hoses only.
Ferrule:
In Standard & Interlock series, the ferrule is permanently attached to the hose. In general three types of ferrules are available viz. Skive, Non Skive & Interlock type. In case of Re-usable series, the Ferrule is attached with the fittings. Standard and interlock ferrules undergo annealing process for stress releasing before crimping. The process of stress-relaxation eliminates the chances of a crack development in the subsequent processes.
End fittings:
Fittings are designed for mounting on to hydraulic hose. The fitting must be compatible to the hose in order to withstand the rigors encountered in extreme working conditions.End Fittings can be manufactured from different materials namely -
• Carbon Steel, BS EN 10277-3
• Stainless Steel
• Brass
• Other Material
Fittings made from normal Carbon Steel are the most common and are Cr-VI free electro zinc plated for protection against corrosion and finished with clear passivation. The finish is suitable to withstand 120 hours salt spray test. Yellow passivation is also available in Cr-VI free electro zinc plating. |
