Mr Yoe MP from Suffolk South constituency's visit to PEL
Ipswich based PIX Europe have been showing how they really do go the extra mile when it comes to looking after their customers by taking part in the annual National Customer Service Week throughout last week.
PIX Europe, the European subsidiary of PIX Transmissions Ltd, one of the fastest growing manufacturers of mechanical and fluid power transmission products in the world, have once again signed up to take part in the event - promoted and participated by businesses worldwide and running from 3rd to 9th October 2011.
Promoted in the UK by the Institute of Customer Services, National Customer Service Week is a week long opportunity to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy.
The week gives employers an ideal opportunity to recognise the efforts and achievements of people working in customer service, particularly those involved in crucial frontline and customer-facing activities. It’s also a chance for organisations to show they genuinely care about their customers.
Throughout the week PIX staff took part in various activities and offering free training, gifts and services to their customers, to show that they really do go that extra mile when looking after them. All staff also ‘dressed down’ wearing specially designed t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan for the week, “A SMILE WITH EVERY ORDER”.
Customer Service Week at PIX was officially launched by Mr Tim Yeo MP, who represents the Suffolk South constituency. Addressing the staff, Mr Yeo spoke of how impressed he was with what he had seen and congratulated the team on their contribution to the growth of such a successful and vibrant company.
Mr Yeo was given a tour of the PIX Head Office at Farthing Road, and afterwards joined the staff for a ‘desktop picnic’ in the office. In his position as Chairman of the Select Committee for Energy and Climate Change, Mr Yeo was particularly interested to hear that PIX had launched an innovative new V-Belt, which has outstanding ‘Green’ credentials – the ‘Muscle’ belt is totally REACH-compliant and has impressive energy-saving credentials.
Commenting on the event and the support from Tim Yeo MP, Operations Director for PIX Europe Stewart Booth said: “Customer Service Week gives all of us an opportunity to remember and focus on the most important people in our business – our customers. To do this while having some fun at the same time, gives a great boost to the team and is vital in keeping us ahead of our competitors. Having Mr Yeo visit and recognise our team here, made the week even more special. There is not much economic news to smile about at present, so a ‘good news’ story makes a refreshing change!!”
